# Drone Industry Statistics

By now, we know that the drone industry is rapidly expanding. We see it here at DroneBase on a daily basis: new customers searching for [aerial photography services](https://dronebase.com/industries), and new Pilots signing up, eager to get paid for their skills as a certified UAV operator.

It's easy to see and feel the growth, but it becomes truly staggering when we take a zoomed-out view of the drone space today. Below, we've rounded up some of the most impressive statistics to date within our industry.

### The Drone Landscape

- Expected percentage increase in commercial drone revenue in North America from 2015 to 2025: 1981% (via [Statista](https://www.statista.com/topics/3601/commercial-uavs/))  
- Projected value of the drone industry by 2025: $90 Billion (via [Expanded Ramblings](https://expandedramblings.com/index.php/drone-statistics/))  
- The FAA estimates that small, hobbyist drones will more than triple in number to 3.5 million drones by 2021, up from 1.1 million drones in 2016 (via [The Motley Fool](https://www.fool.com/investing/2018/01/19/10-drone-stats-that-will-blow-you-away.aspx))  
- Currently, the U.S. controls 35% of the global drone market — And, according to KPCB’s 2014 estimates, that makes America the largest drone market in the world.
