Analyzing Anomaly Data
Anomaly Data provides Pivot and Tabular Views of all the anomalies found in the inspection. These views can help you better understand issues on the site by quickly identifying anomaly patterns, plan which areas of the site to fix first based on severity of impact, and get all the details of impacted modules to support efficient creation of work orders.
Pivot View
Using the Pivot View, you can group anomaly attributes and view the resulting impacts of those groupings in terms of the number or percentage of modules impacted or by the amount or percentage of power loss. The following capabilities are available in the Pivot View:
Pre-defined Views
Pre-defined Views are combinations of row and column groupings and filters that provide convenient ways to analyze anomaly data. The following pre-defined views are available:
- Remediation Recommended – Summary of priority 1 (i.e. highest priority) anomalies broken down by a combination of Subsystem, IR Signal, and RGB Signal.
- Monitor and Remediate – Summary of priority 2 (i.e. medium priority) anomalies broken down by a combination of Subsystem, IR Signal, and RGB Signal.
- Long-term Monitoring – Summary of priority 3 (i.e. low priority) anomalies broken down by a combination of Subsystem, IR Signal, and RGB Signal.
- Remediation by Subsystem – Breakdown of anomalies by a combination Subsystem and Remediation Category.
- Anomaly Summary – Breakdown of anomalies by Remediation Category.
Drag and Drop Grouping
Row and column groupings of data can be added by dragging available fields from the top row of pivot table to the row groupings on the left or to the column groupings just below the list of available fields. Multiple row and column groupings may be added. To adjust the level of grouping of a field relative to other fields, simply drag the field above or below other fields as needed. To remove a field from the row or column grouping, drag the field back to the top row of available fields.
Filters
You can filter the anomaly data by any field in the pivot by selecting the down-arrow next to the field name and selecting only the field values that you want to use in the Pivot View. Filters defined in the Pivot View are carried over when switching to the Tabular View.
Aggregation Settings
The Pivot View provides four options for aggregation which be accessed just above the pivot table:
- Percentage of modules impacted (relative to the total number of modules on the site)
- Sum of modules impacted (relative to the total number of modules on the site)
- Percentage of power loss
- Sum of power loss (in kW)
Heat Map
The Heat Map button located to the top right of the pivot table provides a visual way of identifying the largest aggregations within the pivot table. The more intense the color of the heat map, the higher the value.
Download CSV
Any Pivot View can be downloaded to a comma separated value (CSV) spreadsheet. The customization and filtering capability of the Pivot View table can be used to organize and support remediation efforts on site. The Download CSV button can be accessed from the top right of the pivot table.
Tabular View
Pre-defined Views
The Tabular View provides a detailed list of modules impacted by anomalies. The following information is provided per module:
- Stack ID: Identifier associated with a Stack – a group of geographically co-located modules.
- Position ID: Zeitview coordinate system used to help field service technician find the location of the module.
- IR Signal: The thermal pattern observed on the module.
- RGB Signal: The visual pattern observed on the module.
- Subsystem: The logical grouping of anomalies that describes what aspect of DC health of the site is impacted.
- Priority: Prioritized category of remediation that is recommended for the anomaly.
- Anomaly Status: The resolution status of the anomaly.
- Energy Loss Weight: The fraction of module’s power output (expressed as a decimal from 0 to 1) that is lost due to the anomaly.
- Base Temperature: The nominal temperature associated with a normally functioning portion of a solar panel in ℃.
- Anomaly Temperature: The peak temperature of the issue affecting the solar panel in ℃
- Temperature Delta: The difference between the Anomaly and Base Temperatures in ℃.
- Serial Number: The affected solar panel’s serial number.
- Longitude: The longitude associated with the module’s geographic location
- Latitude: The latitude associated with the module’s geographic location
- Combiner ID: The combiner that the module is connected to – this field is only present for sites with combiner-level nomenclature encoding.
- Inverter ID: The inverter that the module is connected to – this field is only present for sites with inverter-level nomenclature encoding.
- Power Loss: The peak power loss (in kW) calculated for the module due the anomaly.
The table can be sorted and filtered by the fields above. Any filters applied in the Pivot View are automatically carried over to the Tabular View. The list of modules can be downloaded to a comma separated value (CSV) spreadsheet.
