Article Details

Details of an anomaly can be viewed by tapping on the anomaly. This will bring up a panel displaying information about the anomaly, its priority and location. To view more information about the anomaly including its GPS location, what subsystem within the site the anomaly impacts, and a description of the anomaly swipe up on panel. The panel can be dismissed by tapping on the cancel button in the top-right of the panel.

Anomaly Status

The resolution status of anomalies can be updated by selecting the anomaly status drop-down within the Anomaly details. Zeitview Solar Insights supports the following statuses:

Updates to resolution status are supported even when the device is offline. Any changes made to anomaly statuses are automatically synchronized to the Solar Insights server when the device reconnects back online.

Serial Number

Serial numbers for solar panels affected by anomalies can be captured by tapping on the Serial Number field within the Module details. Entry of serial numbers is supported by tapping on the Serial Number field and:

  1. Entering the serial number using the on-device keyboard and pressing “Enter” or “Done” to commit the change, or
  2. Scanning the solar panel’s serial number using a laser scanner, or
  3. Tapping on the barcode icon and using the device’s camera to scan the barcode (Important: Grant the Zeitview Solar Insights app permission to use the device’s camera if prompted by your device).

Updates to serial number are supported even when the device is offline. Any serial numbers that are added are automatically synchronized to the Solar Insights server when the device reconnects back online.

Anomaly Image

To view images of an anomaly, tap on the anomaly to display the Anomaly Details panel. Depending on the type of anomaly, thermal and/or visible images of the anomaly will be available in the panel. Tap on an image to view a larger version of it. On smaller devices, the anomaly images may appear entirely underneath, or partially above the bottom of the panel. Swipe up near the bottom of the panel and scroll the content in order to fully view the images.

Note: Viewing anomaly images requires an internet connection. Any previously viewed anomaly images will be retained on the device and can be viewed again even if connectivity is lost.

File Upload

Confirm the presence of a reported anomaly or provide proof of remediation with the file upload feature. Any file type can be uploaded with a maximum size of 20 MB. Images can be viewed in the app while other file types must be downloaded.

Uploaded files are accessible by anyone viewing the report but deleted only by the uploader. Additional details include the original file name, caption, creation date, the email of the uploader, and the GPS coordinates (if available).

  1. Select the anomaly of interest and click ‘Upload’.
  2. Take a photo with your camera and enter a caption or select a file that is 20 MB or less and enter a caption.
  3. View the progress of the upload in the anomaly’s Uploaded Files section.
  4. Click the ‘X’ to cancel the upload.
  5. If offline, the upload will be pending, and the upload will begin when you are connected to the internet.
  6. Click the ellipsis to download the file, view additional details, or delete the file if you are the uploader.

Bulk Anomaly Status Update

Update multiple anomalies of the same type within an inverter, combiner, or stack in bulk. Anomaly types affecting many modules, like combiner outages, inverter outages, and tracker misalignments can be updated quickly instead of module by module.

How to update statuses in bulk

  1. Tap on the current anomaly status to initiate an update.

  2. If an anomaly qualifies for bulk updates, a banner will show the current scope of the update.

  3. To change the scope of the update, tap ‘change updating option’ to change the scope.

  4. The updated scope will be reflected in the banner. Now tap the appropriate status.

  5. A pop-up will appear to confirm the status update.

  6. The status update will be applied to all relevant anomalies.

Examples

Updating an inverter outage, inverter encoding available:

  1. Select any inverter outage anomaly within the affected inverter.
  2. Tap the current status.
  3. Select the desired status.
  4. Confirm the update.

Updating an inverter outage, no nomenclature encoding:

  1. Select any inverter outage anomaly within the affected inverter.
    • Be sure to confirm that other inverter outage anomalies within the stack can be updated to the same status.
  2. Tap the current status.
  3. Select the scope of the update.
    • The scope will be set to ‘Selected module only’, select ‘Stack’ to use the bulk update.
  4. Select the desired status.
  5. Confirm the update.
  6. Check if all inverter outage anomalies within the affected inverter have been updated.

Updating a string outage, combiner encoding available:

  1. Select any string outage anomaly.
    • Be sure to confirm that other string outage anomalies within the combiner can be updated to the same status.
  2. Tap the current status.
  3. Select the scope of the update.
    • The scope will be set to ‘Selected module only’, select ‘Combiner’ to use the bulk update.
  4. Select the desired status.
  5. Confirm the update.
